Empowerment in Action

Today, we celebrate International Girls in ICT Day and Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day two powerful reminders of the role education, opportunity, and exposure play in building a more equitable world.

International Girls in ICT Day, a United Nations initiative, inspires and encourages girls and young women to explore careers in information and communication technologies helping close the digital gender gap and unlocking new futures.

Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day opens young minds to the possibilities of their future by inviting them into the heart of the workplace helping them imagine their own dreams and paths.

Today we also shine a light on the extraordinary work of AVANI, one of our close partners in India, championing the rights and futures of children. AVANI’s long-standing Mid-Day Meal Program for migrant children has reached a historic milestone after 12 years of advocacy, the government now officially includes all migrant children in its national mid-day meal scheme.

This achievement ensures that children who were once invisible now receive daily nutrition a foundation for learning, health, and dignity. AVANI will continue to ensure accountability through annual monitoring and evaluation reports to the government.

AVANI’s model of transitioning support programs to community-led leadership is a living example of sustainable, people-powered change.

At the Ahimsa Peace Institute, we stand proudly with partners like AVANI building a world where every child is seen, supported, and empowered.
