The history of the work of GWEI-API is displayed and illuminated at this site. GWEI closed in Wauconda, Illinois, and GWEI-API is now located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. GWEI-API honors Arun M. Gandhi memorializing his life and legacy. Arun was the fifth grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and spent his life lighting the path of education in nonviolence for the world. GWEI-API will continue to make grants to AVANI a cause near and dear to Arun’s heart, it is the location of where he passed, and Washi is his final resting in peace place.

GWEI has been in Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council since July 23, 2015.
