On my visit to India on the “Gandhi Legacy Tour” I realized even deeper the power of the words, actions, and activism of Mahatma Gandhi.

Experiencing the last seven years in my work where I live…

I woke up in the middle of the night with an idea to create an umbrella-like collection of new and already existing organizations and programs, partners, sponsors, and individual artists whose work could change the world—beginning with my community, but designed to serve as a global model for change. This umbrella idea is called “Remember Your Dream”—and we are creating it right now. This is a collective effort of change and partnership. We are all connected. And it’s up to us to break the chain of violence and flip the downward spiral up.

Experiencing different cultures and the work that is being done in India, I began to see my work affirmed in the work and activism of Gandhi that lives on in India today… Women’s micro businesses… Schools for orphans and brickyard children… Navdanya Farm and environmental justice…

You have to believe in what you are doing and make a difference starting with your actions.

Recently with the amazing Venus transit event— which won’t happen again for 100 years and to many serves as a reminder from Venus about love and compassion for all humanity—I reflect on our work and belief as human beings and I am still amazed at the insight and the foresight of Mahatma Gandhi.

His words “Be the Change You Wish to See in the World” inspired the creation of Be Magazine an online publication for change. And as we have come to work with Arun Gandhi, who contributes as a writer for Be Magazine, and as we have traveled across India with Arun and his son Tushar in the footsteps of Gandhiji, I realize all these experiences and connections and shared work are part of a mass movement for change.
