India’s Republic Day and the Path Is Peace

India’s Republic Day and the Path Is Peace

On January 26, 2024, we commemorate organic synchronicities —a day marked not only by historical events but also resonating with the timeless path of peace. This day is a synchronicity of anniversaries, contributing to India’s history and the global call for nonviolence.

Vivekananda’s Enduring Legacy: Shaping Minds and Transforming Societies

On January 26, 1897, 127 years ago, Swami Vivekananda steps foot on India’s soil after his tour of the West in South India. Swami Vivekananda left an eternal mark on India’s spiritual landscape. His teachings continue to inspire self-realization, diversity embracement, and societal betterment. His insights on the unity of religions, tolerance, and individual potential serve as a timeless source of wisdom.

Vivekananda’s Speech at the Parliament of the World’s Religions:

A bridge between East and West: In 1893, Swami Vivekananda represented India and Hinduism at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago, delivering a powerful speech emphasizing tolerance, acceptance, and the harmony of religions. His eloquence and inclusivity helped bridge the gap between Eastern and Western cultures, fostering greater awareness and appreciation of Indian philosophy in the West.
“Sisters and Brothers of America!” was Swami Vivekananda’s infamous opening salutation at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Chicago in 1893.

India’s Republic Day: January 26, 1950: A Celebration of Freedom and Unity

Observed on January 26, India’s Republic Day honors the moment when the Constitution came into effect in 1950, symbolizing the nation’s commitment to democracy, justice, and equality. Significantly, Mahatma Gandhi, a pillar of the independence movement, did not live to witness the cherished acknowledgment of the hard-fought freedom he dedicated his life to achieving. The principles of Republic Day align harmoniously with the timeless pursuit of peace, intertwining seamlessly with the philosophies of nonviolence advocated by Gandhi and the universal unity championed by Swami Vivekananda.

Gandhi’s Unseen Victory: A Culture of Peace

Gandhi’s legacy extends beyond political liberation; it fosters a culture of peace. His teachings on nonviolence and peaceful resistance urge reflection on the world’s current state. Upholding ahimsa-nonviolence principles becomes ever more crucial despite persistent challenges.

A Pivotal Year of Unity: Today marks the 50th anniversary of the first gathering at the Mountain of Attention Sanctuary in Northern California. This synchronicity of the 50th anniversary and the year 1950, when India celebrated its Republic Day, holds a unique resonance. Recognizing this convergence as a symbol of unity.

Adi Da’s Divine Image-Art: January 26, 2013: A Visual Symphony of Unity

Avatar Adi Da’s 2013 solo gallery exhibition in the Netherlands marked a milestone in spiritual art, showcasing Divine Image-Art—an artistic representation of the indivisible space of conscious light emanating from Quandra Loka. This sacred art serves as a powerful demonstration of interconnectedness
“The presumption of prior unity—rather than the conflict between opposing identities—needs to be the basis for life in human society. Life must be lived as that—instead of the clash of identities, culture, or religions.” The World-Friend Adi Da, from Prior Unity

Dialogue as a Catalyst for Peacebuilding:

Reflecting on these synchronicities, the importance of dialogue cannot be overstated. Dialogue is the bridge connecting differing perspectives, fostering understanding, and paving the way for a culture of peace. Following in the footsteps of leaders like Gandhi and Vivekananda, engage in open and constructive conversations to address conflicts and prevent the escalation of violence.
In conclusion, January 26, marks not only the anniversaries of significant events but also serves as a sacred reminder of the ongoing journey towards peace. By embracing the principles of ahimsa, unity, and dialogue, we contribute to a world where conflicts are prevented, wars averted, and peace becomes a shared reality.

Ahimsa Impact

Footnote: On this day January 26, 1985, author Lynnea Bylund married her Persian husband who had fled Iran in 1979. He is the father of her only child. The ceremony took place at the Candlelight Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, now a part of the Clark County Museum. This chapel, initially named the Little Church of the West Algiers and later the All Religions Wedding Chapel, became the setting where they celebrated their union. *The Fontainebleau Las Vegas Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester sits on the land where the wedding chapel was situated before it was moved to the Clark County Museum.

When their daughter was just three months old on January 12, 1986, the family embarked on their first journey to New York, stayed with their Persian family in Brooklyn close to the birthplace of Adi Da.  As they prepare for their journey, January 11, 1986, holds profound significance as Adi Da’s Divine Emergence Event — the initiation of Avatar Adi Da’s Divine Avataric Self-“Emergence,” marking the beginning of the Forever Time of His Divine Ashvamedha Revelation at Adi Da Samrajashram at 5:30 a.m. (Da Time) in 1986. The following day of January 12, coincided with the anniversary of Vivekananda’s birth. In 1986, Lynnea was yet to encounter the teachings and impact of Adi Da and Vivekananda.  The family departs as New York prepared for its inaugural Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration in 1986.  This sequence of events beautifully weaves together, illustrating the theme of synchronicity that threads through the fabric of ones journey, reminding us all of the interconnected tapestry of our lives.

Bhogi Day (Fijian Origins): The 1st Bhogi Day is 3 days after one’s passing, 2nd Bhogi Day occurs 100 days after a loved one’s passing, and the 3rd Bhogi Day is 1000 days after one’s passing. Arun passes May 2, 2023. His first Bhogi Day is May 5, 2023-Vesak Day-Full Moon-2nd Anniversary of my father’s passing May 5, 2021. My father’s first Bhogi Day fell on Mother’s Day 2021. Arun’s mom and my father share the same birthdate of August 24th.

Arun’s second Bhogi Day landed on August 10, 2023. My father’s 2nd Bhogi Day fell on August 13, 2021 (My former father-in-law passed on August 13, 2013; we enjoyed a 23-year relationship.) Days before my father passed, he had us bring him a blank piece of paper and a pen as he lay in his at home hospital hospice bed, he does the best he can to lift the pen to the paper, he wrote the number 13 on it and was done. Arun’s third Bhogi Day falls on January 26, 2026, my father’s 3rd Bhogi Day fell on my mother’s 86th birthday Feb 7, 2024. Arun and I met November 1, 2009, and he passed May 2, 2023; we enjoyed a 13 and a half year (13.5) relationship.  Divine Sacred Geometry!

Not-Two Is Peace” – The World-Friend Adi Da

“A new kind of human consciousness is required—based on the working-presumption of prior unity, and on an understanding of the indivisibly single world in which everyone is living. This involves not only the notion that there is such a single world, but it requires grasping the necessity for cooperation, and the necessity to function on the basis of an understanding that the Earth is a single system, and humankind (likewise) is a single whole.” – The World-Friend Adi Da, from Not-Two Is Peace.
